MAO BA?

TAKING THE LEAD

Netizens were mixed over President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) now has full control on the war on drugs.

Consing Ybanez commented on Facebook: “This is a good move so our police personnel can focus on resolving other increasing crimes like the shootings involving riding-in-tandems. There are also so many firearms illegally owned by civilians.”

Ronielo Baclaan commented, “This is reality – making decisions and then taking them back. The president may have felt he’s losing the war against drugs. Just like in battles, some retreat; in sports, some give up.”

Shirley Aragones wrote, “I think it’s okay for PDEA to handle the drug operations because the agency has already been cleansed from anomalies. If there’s still a black mole, I don’t think it’s to big to affect the performance of the agency.”

Federico Analiza commented, “Even if you say that the illegal drug trade in the country has weakened, we know that it’s going to come back. No matter who sits as president, the problem will always be there.”
