FORMER Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. described the life of Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal’s as a “blessing” to the Catholic faithful and said he was a peacemaker whose advocacies were driven by his faith.
Davide, who represented the lay community, is the third and last speaker for the necrological services of Vidal, who will be buried tomorrow morning behind the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
“The life of Cardinal Vidal is indeed a blessing. With deepest sincerity, we must be grateful for our Cardinal. We love you, Cardinal,” Davide said.
“His Excellency’s advocacies are both a mission and crusade of peace and solidatory, spreading the culture of life and love against death and infidelity. A great gift for the faithful,” he said.
A Mass followed right after Davide’s eulogy that was presided by Manila Archbishop Emeritus Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales.
