Two Korean nationals were found lifeless in two separate hotels in Cebu City yesterday afternoon.
Based on the initial report of the Cebu City Homicide Section, one of the two Koreans was found dead inside a room on the 8th floor of a hotel in Barangay Apas, Cebu City.
SPO1 Janice Tamayo said that the 42-year-old Korean national may have died of heart attack.
“According to his friends, they were playing casino all night and he may have forgotten to take his medicine,” Tamayo said.
The 42-year-old Korean was said to be suffering from diabetes.
Meanwhile, another Korean man was found dead inside a hotel in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.
Hotel staff found the Korean national lying on the floor with a telephone wire tied around his neck and arms.
“He was supposed to check-out from the hotel on Tuesday,” a hotel employee said.
However, investigators are looking into robbery as the reason behind the death of the 34-year old Korean.
“When our team checked the room, his wallet was already empty,” Tamayo said.
The homicide team will check the CCTV inside the room to help track the suspects.
Joseph Shun, chief officer of the Korean Consular office in Cebu, said they will conduct thorough investigations on the deaths of the Korean nationals. But the Korean Consular Office in Cebu will inform the victims family first.
Shin added that both victims came to Cebu for business meetings.
