Both the police and the Coast Guard remained on high alert despite the resumption of classes and work on All Souls Day on Thursday.

Senior Supt. Renato Dugan, Police Community Relations (PCR) chief of the Police Regional Office (PRO-7) said they will remain on full alert status until Camp Crame lifts the alert.

“We still have policemen who will secure places since it is expected that public will be back in the city tomorrow (Friday),” Dugan said.

PO2 Rudolph Alain Benolirao, Philippine Coast Guard Cebu station officer-in-charge for operations, said they are also on full alert. Dugan said Central Visayas was generally peaceful during the observance of All Saints’ and Souls’ Day.

Osmeña discloses ‘major development’ in SRP

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said he will make an announcement of a major development at the South Road Properties (SRP) in two weeks.

Osmeña said his big announcement is the reason the advertisement on the sale of the three-hectare lot has been delayed. He said this development will put more interest to SRP.

“Once this is announced, it make make the SRP attractive. Then we will sell the property,” the city mayor said. He said he is confident that the property will be sold in no time.

He said city residents will benefit from the sale which drew interest from local and foreign investors. Osmeña said the most expensive offer he initially gave to the possible buyer was P150,000 per square meter.
