Duron to compete in Asian MTB despite lack of training

JUST a week after recovering from tonsillitis and skin allergy, Cebuano rider Jun Vincent Duron returns to the playing field as he leaves for Kuching, Malaysia, today to take part in the final leg of the Asian Mountain Bike (MTB) series slated this weekend.

The Talisay, Cebu, native Duron had his training cut short after suffering from an illness. Still, he hopes he could perform well and bounce back from his fourth-place finish last September in the third leg of the Asian MTB held in Timor Leste.

“I lacked training because I just recovered from my illness last week and my training was just limited. Hopefully, the result on race day will be good,” Duron said.

Duron, the 2016 MTB Asian overall champion, will be joined by fellow Filipino riders Eleazar Barba Jr, Nino Surban, Ariana Dormitorio, Leah Belgira and John Flores in the two-day competition, which concludes on Nov. 5.
