Fil-Am producer among Miss Universe pre-competition judges

THE Miss Universe organization has revealed the six premilinary competition judges who will choose the top contestants to be announced on November 26 (November 27 in the Philippines) at Las Vegas, Nevada.

One of the six judges is a Filipino-American named Cecilio Asuncion as revealed by Miss Universe’s website.

Asuncion is a producer based in Los Angeles who started his career in the entertainment industry when he directed and produced a documentary titled, “What’s The T?”

Asuncion also made the announcement in an Instagram post last Tuesday.

“I am beyond excited to announce that I will be one of the official #MissUniverse Preliminary Competition judges this year. Tune in to the event Saturday, November 25th on the @MissUniverse Facebook page to support the contestants from all over the world,” he said.

Asuncion is also the founder and director of Slay Model Management,  a transgender model agency.

The other preliminary judges are Morgan Deane, director of marketing for TAO Group in New York City; Isabelle Lindblom, a New York City based model scout for International Modeling Agency; Bill Pereira, who served as a member of IDT Corp’s Board of Director; Megan Olivi, hosts UFC Ultimate Insider on Fox Sports; and Wendy Fitzwilliam, a lawyer, philantropist, author, and Miss Universe 1998.

Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is also part of the telecast judges for Miss Universe 2017 competition.

Miss Universe’ Instagram account announced yesterday the telecast judges which also include Olivi, Fitzwilliam, TV host and author Ross Matthew, American online personality Lele Pons, and makeup artist Jay Manuel.

Steve Harvey and model Ashley Graham will also return to host the event while singers Fergie and Rachel Platten are expected to perform during the coronation night.
