Global Cebu FC draws with Ilocos United FC

GLOBAL Cebu FC and Ilocos United FC figured in a 3-3 draw last Wednesday evening in their fourth and final encounter in the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL) at the Quirino Stadium in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Global Cebu FC remains at fourth place in the standings with 44 points from 12 wins, six losses and eight draws while the host team is still at the bottom with eight points off a 1-20-5 (win-loss-draw) record.

FC Meralco Manila Sparks still leads the tournament with 54 points (16-4-6) closely followed by Ceres Negros FC with 52 points (16-4-4) and Kaya Makati FC at third with 47 points (15-8-5).

Global Cebu FC started off hot with ace Spanish striker Rufo Sanchez scoring the first goal at the eighth minute but former Global booter Arthur Kouassi of Ivory Coast retaliated with an equalizer at the 31st minute via a penalty kick.

Charlie Beaton gave the home team the lead with a goal in the 41st minute goal.

In the second half, Darryl Roberts tied the match at 2-2 with his 53rd minute goal but Kennedy Uzoka gave Ilocos United the lead anew by scoring in the 67th minute.

Roberts managed to tie the game again with a goal in the 76th minute. He was later named man of the match.

Global Cebu FC will play next at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Sunday against FC Meralco Manila Sparks before facing off with rival Ceres Negros FC on November 28 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
