Peters took to Instagram on Thursday to express how upset she was at the leaked photos of the evening gown she will be wearing on pageant night.
“To who ever leaked pictures of my evening gown, thank you for teaching me a lesson about being more careful who you trust,” the beauty queen posted.
“No sure what your intentions were but no matter what, you’re not dragging me down. At the end of the day it’s not about the dress you wear, how you walk or even the element of surprise. What’s more important is that you are kind and true to yourself … that’s when a girl truly shines,” she ended her post.
Instagram account named @gandang_pinoy_ posted a photo of a gold gown believed to be Peters’ final evening gown.
“RACHEL PETERS SNEAK PEEK GOLDEN GOWN.. VAL TAGUBA is choosing two different GOLD gowns and its official!!! This is the chosen one…simple yet elegant,” posted @gandang_pinoy_ on its Instagram account.
Peters’ evening gown is designed by Val Taguba, the same person who designed Peters’ national costume, the design of which was inspired by the mythical bird, sarimanok.
To recall, Peters said that her evening gown “will show her best assets” during a Facebook live video of The Perfect Face Cosmetics.
Peters continues to be a strong contender in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant.
She is part of top pageant online site Missosology’s hot picks along with candidates from Venezuela, South Africa, Thailand, Iceland, Indonesia, Brazil, France, Colombia, USA, Mexico, Japan, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Guyana.
Sash Factor also considered her as number one in their preliminary sash pick, which also features the ladies from Thailand, Russia, Panama, Indonesia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Korea, South Africa, Spain, USA, Cambodia, Jamaica, Tanzania, and Curacao.
