Netizens speculated that the killers of Elisa Badayos, Karapatan human rights group coordinator in Negros Oriental, and the Karapatan group as well, may be the communist New People’s Army (NPA).
A netizen named Gel Bords commented, “NPA cguro ang ga ambush nla dha xa bayawan (Maybe members of the NPA ambushed them there in Bayawan).”
Ydlaz Anacap commented, “Mga kauban nyo ra nga NPA nipatay ana..ayaw namu pangdamay ug lain (Your colleagues from NPA killed her. Stop dragging others).”
Jaime Alejandro also commented, “Human right natakuban pero NPA terrorist diay (Pretending to be a human rights group but are actually NPA terrorists).”
