FRIDAY Group “Bowler of the Year” Roland Bantilan clinched a big win last Saturday, topping the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Bowler of the Year tournament held at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
Bantilan, the bowler of the month for September, finished the six-game series with 1,387 pinfalls, beating Noel Marquez and Marvin Sevilla to the title. He averaged 231 pinfalls in the tournament.
Marquez settled for second with 1,263 while Sevilla had 1,247 to finish third.
Rounding up the top five were John Galindo (1,244) and Cetba benefactor Eric Bucoy (1,242).
Bantilan won P5,000 purse while the second to fifth placers received P4,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
Sixth to 10th placers were Ronan Barredo (1,229), Jake Yap (1,227), Sonia Gakenholz (1,222), Cetba president Gretchen Tormis (1,217) and Baby Bacon (1,215), respectively.
The awarding ceremonies and the group’s Christmas party is slated December 10 at the Casino Español.
