Rape and child abuse complaints were filed on Tuesday against a 32-year-old man who allegedly attempted to rape a 17-year-old girl in a barangay in Cebu City.
Ramas Lanojan is facing both complaints — rape and a complaint for violation of Republic Act 7610 or Act providing special protection for children against child abuse.
Lanojan was arrested on Monday after the victim and her aunt reported the attack to the police.
PO2 Madonnah Conejos, Waterfront Police Precinct’s Women’s Concerned and Protection Desk chief, said that the victim claimed that the suspect entered the house and allegedly touched her private parts while she was sleeping in the sala.
Conejos said that the suspect was apparently drunk after he had a drinking binge with his friends near the victim’s house.
The suspect was detained at the Waterfront police precinct.
