THE PHILIPPINES has won another international crown.
Jannie Loudette Alipo-on was proclaimed Miss Tourism International 2017, succeeding Ariel Pearse of New Zealand.
The coronation night was held last Dec. 6 at Petaling Jaya, Malaysia as she outperformed 49 other candidates.
Alipo-on is from Navotas, Manila and a former segment host on TV 5’s “Aksyon.”
She was also part of the 24K Girls for ABS-CBN’s game show, “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”
During the question and answer portion, Alipo-on’s question was, “How could you promote visit Malaysia in 2020 to the people of the Philippines?”
“First I will post the beautiful places that I’ve been to like the Malacca and Langkawi which I’ve already started. Second, I will post stories about warm hospitality that the Malaysian poeple have shown me. Third, I will prouldly promote that Malaysia is culturally diverse where everyone with different nationalities get along, live together with peace and harmony. Inviting Filipinos to visit your beautiful country will be my way of thanking you for such an unforgettable experience. Thank you,” Alipo-on answered.
Alipo-on is the fourth Filipina to receive the title. Maria Esperanza Manzano brought home the first crown for the Philippines in 2000.
The late Rizzini Alexis Gomez of Cebu won in 2012 and a back-to-back victory happened in 2013 after another Cebuana beauty queen Angeli Dione Gomez won the title.
Mutya ng Pilipinas, on its official Facebook page, congratulated Alipo-on, “Congratulations to our Queen Jan-Jannie Loudette Vicencio Alipo-on for winning Miss Tourism International 2017 to 2018! We are so proud of you!” Alipo-on’s court includes Diana Hills of Australia (Miss Tourism Global 2017), Lois Merry Tangel of Indonesia (Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International 2017), Maja Aleksandra Sieron of Poland (Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2017), Julia do Vale Horta of Brazil (Dreamgirl of the Year International 2017), and Kamolrut Tanon of Thailand (Miss South East Asia 2017).
