SEVEN government employees tested positive for drugs use during the mandatory drug testing organized by the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO) from December 1 to 6.
Six of the suspected drug users were from Danao City in northern Cebu while the other one was from Alegria town in the midwestern part of the province.
“(But) we will have to wait for the (outcome of the) confirmatory (testing first) to officially conclude everything else,” said CPADAO head Ivy Durano-Meca.
A total of 843 government personnel from Danao City and the towns of Consolacion, Alegria and Aloguinsan were subject of their mandatory drug testing.
Meca said for now, they still cannot divulge the name of the seven employees because of the need to subject their urine samples to confirmatory testing.
CPADAO, Meca said, will continue to implement mandatory drug testing on employees of other LGU offices in Cebu until December 27 in compliance with Civil Service Commission Resolution No. 1700653 issued in March 2017.
Anyone who will refuse to cooperate and comply with the CSC order, without any valid reason, may face administrative sanctions that would include their suspension from service.
