Rider Omega tops Lanorte Man Triathlon

CEBU’s Rider Omega Pro Tri Team ruled five categories to emerge overall team champion in the Lanorte Man Triathlon last Sunday at the Sultan Naga Dimaporo in Lanao del Norte.

Leading the charge for the team was promising junior triathletes Andrew Kim Remolino and Karen Andrea Manayon, who dominated the sprint distance race that featured a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5km run course.

Aside from the winning, Manayon also bagged three separate awards for having the fastest time splits in all three disciplines. Remolino received a special recognition for having the fastest swim split.

Also winning for Rider Omega in the sprint distance was Nicole del Rosario, who topped the female 24-below category.

In the standard division, which had a distance of 1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run, winners for the team were Maria Ivy Kyono (female 35-39 years old) and Brian Borling (male 30-34 years old).

The team also had nine podium finishes courtesy of Frances Moira Erediano (second place sprint distance), Renz Wynn Corbin (second place sprint 24-below), Cj Lipura (sprint 24-below), Paul Jumamil (second place standard), Jorry Ycong (third place standard), Joland Olmilla (standard 18-24), Vic Montebon (standard 18-24), Feelin Torres (second place standard), and Cianyl Gonzales (third place standard).
