Rosauro victorious in URCC Cebu card

YAW-YAN ArDigma’s Roel ‘Akiyama’ Rosauro put up a breakthrough performance last Wednesday, beating Pagadian City’s Alexander Aballe in the Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) fight night dubbed ‘Battle Extreme Tournament of Superstars IV’ at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan.

The 29-year-old Rosauro won by split decision against Aballe of Yawchedelic MMA.

Rosauro was effective at his striking in most of the entire fight but Aballe was able to take him down as he utilized his grappling skills.

In the second round, Rosauro used his take down defense, forcing Aballe to switch his game plan from grappling to striking.

But that turned out to be a disaster for Aballe as he got pummeled by Rosauro’s kicks to the head and body in the third round.

With the victory, Rosauro is hoping to get noticed not just in the URCC but also in the international MMA scene such as the One Championships.

He improved his record to three wins with one defeat while Aballe suffered his first professional career loss.

In the main event, former champion Mark Striegl won via unanimous decision over South Korean Kim Ki-Sung.

In the other results, Dave Banguingui of Fight Corps clobbered Ariel Olieros of Ronin BJJ, Roque Maha-ay of Catalan Fighting system won by decision against Yong Bin Kwon, while Lucky Mateo of Fight Corps knocked out Charles Sayson.
