The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) assured that there are no ‘gangster’ cops in Central Visayas, following the announcement of President Rodrigo Duterte that he will fire about 90 policemen over corruption as he stressed that he would not tolerate ‘gangster’ cops in the government.
PRO-7 director Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino said he is certain that there are no ‘gangster’ cops in Central Visayas. However, police officials who were previously listed for being involved in the illegal drug trade are still being monitored.
Duterte said that the dismissal of the policemen is part of the purging the Philippine National Police (PNP).
