THE BULLDOGS claimed their second straight title in the CrossFit Subtero x Cebu Weekend Basketball Club Powered by Rad Teamwear, beating the Tigers, 80-77, in the championship game last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.
Forwards Syv Millevo and Ralph Belarmino took turns blasting the Tigers’ defense to compete the come-from-behind win and successfully defend their title.
Millevo had 22 points and four rebounds while Belarmino also had 22 points to go with five boards, two assists and two steals.
However, it was prolific point guard Paul Joven who sparked the turnaround as it was his decisive three-pointer with under two minutes left that started the Bulldogs’ comeback from a six-point deficit.
Former University of San Carlos center Cid Cortes paced the Tigers with 24 points and 15 boards while Cebu 1st District Representative Gerald Anthony Gullas pitched in 17 markers. Janjan Auditor also chimed in with 16 points.
