Sacred Heart booters win 2 of 3 matches in Aboitiz Cup

Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) went two out of three yesterday in the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

SHS-AdC’s under-18 girls squad won over Cebu International School (CIS), 3-2, while its under-11 boys squad blanked Don Bosco Technology Center’s (DBTC) team three, 5-0.

Guiseppe FC prevented a sweep for SHS-AdC in yesterday’s playdate as it edged the Magis Eagles’ under-9 team, 3-0, with Justine Soco leading the team with two goals and Mateo Lacson adding another in the 13th minute.

Aliza Ugarte scored the first goal for SHS-AdC’s girls under-18 team  in the seventh minute but CIS answered with two goals courtesy of Izza Guidecilli and Kiara Amarga.

SHS-AdC remained composed and focused and kept on attacking CIS until Ane Ugarte nailed two goals in the 47th and 59th minute to escape with a hairline win.

Elliot Jerman, meanwhile, towed SHS-AdC’s under-11 team with his three goals while John and James Rufin contributed one goal each.

Guiseppe FC also annihilated DBTC-4, 14-4, in the under-11 division.

CIS managed to win over Guiseppe FC, 5-3, in the under-7 division and against Phoenix FC, 3-0, in the under-11 division. But CIS lost to DBTC’s team A (0-1) and B (0-7) in the under-9 and under-7 divisions, respectively.

In other games, Bright Academy bowed down to DBTC’s team B, 2-3,in the under-9 division but its team B defeated DBTC’s  Team E, 3-0.

Nineteen matches will be showcased today starting at 7:30 a.m.
