Tours in southern Cebu suspended due to ‘Vinta’

The Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) has suspended all tourism activities in the south, from towns of Moalboal to Santander as Tropical Storm Vinta is expected to barrel the Visayas region today.

Recent data from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) revealed that 46 tourists from Sumilon Island were left stranded since no motorized bancas were allowed to set sail.

Around 500 stranded passengers were also left stranded in Liloan – Bato port of Santander town in the southernmost portion of Cebu.

10 passengers in Taloot Wharf in Argao town were also stranded.

Reports from PDRRMO revealed that as of this morning, there were no reports of landslides and flash floods in the southern towns of Cebu, which remained under Storm Signal No. 1
