IT IS that time of the year when Silkair awards its top revenue generating travel agents. The ceremonies, presided by Cebu-based Silkair country manager Jake Jeow, were held at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel during a sumptuous dinner.

There was more significance to the event as it also marked the 25th anniversary of Silkair’s direct flights to and from Singapore/Cebu.

That was in 1992, but previous to that there were already flights between Cebu and Singapore through Singapore Airlines.

The top agents (from left): Aida Uy of Cebu Fortune Travel; Angelita Dy of Grand Hope (who was awarded a round-trip ticket to Cairns, Australia for being a top agent; Silkair manager for the Philippines Jake Jeow, Marget Villarica of Destination Specialists; Alan Carvajal of Travelways; and Cheralla Origenes of Global Link.

With Silkair, passage between Singapore has increased and is ever on the rise. It works both ways. Scores of Cebuanos enjoy holidays in Singapore, and in reverse, the Singaporeans come to Cebu’s beaches.

That is due to the excellent service Silkair provides its passengers. Safety, too.
