LAWAAN FIRE: Anxiety and worry are etched on the faces of these women who are among the about 300 individuals from Sitio Caduldulan, Barangay Lawaan III, Talisay City who were left homeless by a fire that razed 87 houses in their community on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2017. CDN PHOTO/TONEE DESPOJO

The fire victims in Sitio Caduldulan, Barangay Lawaan 3 can rebuild their homes, unless the owners of the land will say otherwise.

According to Delia Ybañez, Lawaan 3 Barangay Captain said that the privately owned lot was already subdivided and loaned to the residents by a certain Mr. Suarez.

Ybañez said that the lot owner has not expressed any disagreement in letting the residents rebuild their homes. However, reblocking will be implemented first, before residents will be allowed to rebuild their homes.

Meanwhile, fire victims will receive their last batch of food pack today, while the provincial social welfare office has augmented relief packages by giving additional rice and canned goods to 87 affected families.
