Davide to discuss traffic concerns with Minglanilla officials

On Saturday, December 23, Linor Luardo visited their property in Barangay Inayagan, Naga City around 2:30 pm.

However, what seemed to be a normal 35-minute drive turned into a six-hour-long drive.

Luardo, who is from Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City was among the commuters and motorist who got stuck at what Cebu City Governor Hilario Davide III calls a “Monstrous Traffic,” last Saturday in Minglanilla town.

Davide, who was at Manila when the traffic jam happened, received complaints about the traffic which prompted him to arrange a meeting with Minglanilla officials and with the Cebu Provincial Police Office on January 3, next year.

According to Davide, he received reports that traffic enforcers were not manning the busy street because LGU officials and employees were having their Christmas Party.

Davide said he was also concerned about the stranded passengers in the South Bus Terminal, whose trips were delayed because no one was manning the traffic.

Davide hopes that with the meeting, they can address how to effective man traffic situations to avoid commuters like Luardo, get caught up in a 6-hour traffic jam.
