Police arrested five suspected drug personalities, including a former Air Force officer in a series of drug-bust operations in Lapu-Lapu City on Friday, December 29.
According to Chief inspector Mark Sucalit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO), around 5:00 p.m. members of the LCPO-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) arrested three drug suspects in Sitio Panas, Barangay Suba-Basbas.
Suspects were identified as former Joven Bangcot, 54, Bimbo Estoesta, 46 and Rene Degaom, 53.
Sucalit said Bangcot was an Airforce officer but was dismissed from service after he was found guilty of using illegal drugs.
Police seized 18 small packs of suspected shabu from the three suspects.
At 10 p.m., DEU personnel also arrested Armando Benlot, 41, and Bartolome Torrefranco, 56, in barangay Barangay Pajo.
Police seized 20 small sachets of shabu from them.
Suspects are now detained at the Lapu-Lapu police precinct pending the filing of charges against them
