PHENOMENAL Star Maine Mendoza granted a simple request of a fan to repost her tweet asking help to raise funds for her surgery.
Jessie G. Barrios messaged Mendoza on Dec. 30 saying “Hi @mainedcm! Birthday ko po ngayon, wish ko lang i-share sana tong tweet ko para makapag raise ako ng fund for my bone marrow transplant. Maraming salamat po! God bless.”
Based on her Twitter profile, Barrios is a former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who is now fighting leukemia.
On Jan. 2, Barrios was pleasantly surprised when Mendoza reposted her tweet and said, “Let’s help Jessie! Salamat in advance sa iba pang tutulong!”
Mendoza’s fans and AlDub Nation offered to help Barrios.
The former OFW then thanked Mendoza and her fans, “Maine!!!! Napaiyak ako sa tuwa ng mabasa ko retweet mo! Maraming salamat kasi napansin mo ako … Napakalaking tulong … Pati yung mga messages ng ADN, ansarap basahin. Nakakakapagpalakas ng loob sobra. Maraming salamat po

It seemed that Barrios did not only tweet Mendoza, but she also tried her luck with other celebrities like Vice Ganda, Anne Smith-Heussaff, Rachel Peters and Luis Manzano.
Last Tuesday, Manzano also retweeted Barrios’ tweet to him.
