Seven persons were arrested for engaging in illegal cockfighting activity (tigbakay) on Sunday in Barangay Dunggo-an, Danao City, a city at least 40 km from Cebu City.
Felix Darnayha, Felicisimo Ugapay, Eugene Castro, Danilo Superales, Miguel Ebarola, Christian, Christian Caputolan and Martin Bayo were caught as Danao City police raided the illegal cockfighting activity in the barangay at 1 p.m.
Aside from the arrests, police also confiscated two fighting cocks with their gaff and P820 cash believed to be money used to bet on the fighting cocks.
The arrested persons are detained at the Danao Police Station’s detention cell pending the filing of illegal gambling charges against them.
