SouthWestern University PHINMA has another reason to celebrate 2017 as an alumnus of the School of Medicine assumes a key post in the Ministry of Health of Thailand.
Dr. Jedsada Chokdamrongsuk, a member of Class 1972 of the School of Medicine, has recently been appointed as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Thailand. Dr. Jedsada, who used to helm the Disease Control Department of the MOH, is the first graduate of a foreign university to hold the prestigious post.
In recognition of this singular achievement, SWU PHINMA President Dr. Chito B. Salazar, together with School of Medicine Dean Dr. Peter S. Aznar, presented a plaque of recognition to Dr. Jedsada last November 26 at the Novotel Siam Square Hotel. The presentation ceremony was held during a gathering of Thai alumni of the School of Medicine.
“Dr. Jedsada is a shining example of what our alumni and students should aspire to be, someone who has reached the pinnacle of his profession without forgetting where they come from,” Dr. Salazar proudly intoned.
The SWU PHINMA Thai Alumni Association President, Dr. Eklarp Thongborisute, praised Dr. Jedsada as a Cobra who has lived up to the true values of SWU PHINMA. Dr. Eklarp declared Dr. Jedsada’s appointment as a milestone that has brought honor and prestige to SWU PHINMA. /PR
