OF the hundred or so priorities in their legislative agenda, pest control and lighting problems are not the least of the Cebu City Council’s concerns.
In yesterday’s session, the City Council passed a resolution asking the Cebu City Health Office and the Building Maintenance Section (BMS) to conduct an ocular inspection on the different offices of City Hall’s legislative building.
“The offices on the legislative building of Cebu City Hall are like the (breeding grounds) propagation places of rats, cockroaches and pests,” Cebu City Councilor Eugenio Gabuya Jr. said.
Councilor Raymond Garcia also said the maintenance staff should look into the leaks in their offices.
“I personally experienced it in the past two months,” he said.
He said he doesn’t have proper lighting at his office and his staff are afraid to open the lights for fear of faulty wiring.
The Office of the Building Official (OBO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were also called to inspect the legislative building’s structural stability.
