For the second time in a row, the contingent from the Talisay City Central Elementary School won the Sinulog sa Lalawigan.
The contingent took home a trophy and the top cash prize of P350,000. They also won the Best in Musicality (P50,000) and Best in Costume (P50,000) and ranked second in the Streetdancing (P30,000) competition.
Their head choreographer Marvey Cano said their contingent depicted the story of how the cacao industry helped the first generation of the Gullas Family.
Talisay City is the bailwick of the Gullases, one of the most influential political families in Cebu.
“The Gullas couple were grateful for Señor Sto. Niño for the abundance of cacao that truly helped their lives,” Cano said.
