The contingent from barangay Pasil automatically qualifies for the Sinulog 2018 Grand Parade on January 21 despite not being able to perform during the Sinulog sa Barangay.
This is was announced by Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña on Sunday afternoon during his opening speech during the Sinulog sa Barangay 2018 competition at the Cebu City Sports Complex.
“Karong adawa, na disgrasya ang usa ka barangay. Ang tibuok contingent di sila ka perform. Mohatag ko og exemption. They are automatically included in the Grand Parade this Sunday,” Osmeña said.
(Today, an accident happened in one barangay. The entire contigent cannot perform and so, I will make an exemption.)
A fire alarm was raised in barangay Pasil past noon on Sunday. Barangay Pasil’s performers went home to check on their families which made them unable to perform in the Sinulog sa Barangay 2018.
