Tabal, Dueñas show off in CHI Silver Run

Partners Mary Joy Tabal and John Philip Dueñas showcased their winning form the 25-kilometer race of the Fast Forward Faster: Silver Run yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu.

Cebuano running queen Tabal edged former champion Christy Sevilleno to win the women’s 25k crown by crossing the finish line at The Terraces with a time of one hour, 41 minutes and 22 seconds.
Sevilleno came in at second with a time of 2:11.58 while Leonora Martos rounded off the top three with a time of 2:21.43.
Dueñas, meanwhile, finished second to Kenyan Abraham Missous in the men’s side with a time of 1:32.27.
The Kenyan finished with a time of 1:30.03. Another Kenyan, James Mibei, completed the men’s 25k race with a time of 1:38.49.
Keynan Isaac Simat, meanwhile,  lorded the 10k race, clocking 32 minutes and 44 seconds.
Lovely Fe Andrin captured the top spot in the distaff side with a time of 43:24.
Her older siblings, Cherry (22:50) and Jhean (23:45) finished first and second place, respectively, in the 5k female division.
Kent Nastor placed first in the 5k men’s side with a time of 22:29.
The running event was a fund-raising activity of the Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI). It was held in line with the celebration of CHI’s  25th silver anniversary.
The proceeds of the race will be given to the “Agbayay sa Komunidad” that will be partnering with ABS-CBN’s “Sagip Kapamilya” for the benefit of barangay Bagay, Daan Bantayan, northern Cebu.
