TWELVE exciting amateur bouts will spice up the Sinulog Festival with the staging of the Cebu Amateur Boxing Revival at the Gaisano Country Mall carpark on SAunday night.
Organized by the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)-Visayas and sponsored by ALA Boxing Gym, the event has three divisions: kids/novice, schoolboys/developmental and juniors/experienced. Each division will have four bouts in different weight classes.
The juniors/experienced division will feature Team Joeric Boxing Gym’s Jimpol Dignos versus John Niño Vega of the A Gym (48-kilogram), Big Yellow Boxing Gym’s Yerodge Gura vs Brian Niere of Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) Boxing Gym (50kg), Niere’s stablemate Jeffrey Jimenez vs Jethro Abaquita of Naga Boxing Club (48kg) and Lembert Cainap of Big Yellow Boxing Gym vs Gadfrey Lubia of Team Joeric (49.5kg).
The schoolboys/ developmental class pits The A Gym’s Rowel Nucos vs Cendrex Jushu of 10,000BC Boxing Club (56kg), Naga Boxing Club’s Walter Sabaybay vs RWS Boxing Club’s Jimboy Cais (48kg), Jayrone Cole of Team Joeric Boxing Club against CCSC’s John Kevin Jimenez (37kg) and The A Gym’s Erick Miguel Austria vs Ashley Fajardo of 10,000BC Boxing Club (40kg).
The kids/novice division meanwhile, pits JM Casinto of The A Gym vs David Mancao of 10,000BC Boxing Club (23kg), Mancao’s stablemate Wyn Cabradilla vs The A Gym’s Emmanuel Galo (26kg), Team Joeric Boxing Gym’s Clinton Martinez against David Tugot of The A Gym (34kg) and CCSC’s Cedrick Benlot vs Gabriel Tapales of RWS Boxing Gym (40.5kg).
The free to the public card will start at 6 p.m.
