Paying Homage to the Sto. Niño through art

STO. Niño: A Homage, an art exhibit showcasing the artworks of renowned artists from Manila and Cebu, launched last Saturday, January 13. The exhibit aims to promote the dedication, devotion, and love towards Sto. Niño. Twenty-three artists represent this year’s exhibits, with three from Manila, two from Mindanao, and the rest coming from Cebu.

One of the representing artists, Celso Pepito, said that the exhibit aims to support and nurture our love for the Sto. Niño while showcasing the artistic heritage of the artists. He also said that it aims to strengthen our faith.

Raul Arambolo, one of the guests of honors, said that what they want to achieve through these paintings is to bring back to God.

Many of the artists include Cesar Castillo, Rhodesa Cruzet, Jess Dinglasa, John Dinglasa, Efren Enolva, Bong Francisco, Jun Impas, Guido Lubanga, Mean Mustard, Clint Normandia, Joseph Ong, Celso Pepito, Fe Pepito, Jojo Sagayno, Antonio Vidal, and Mar Vidal. Noel Bueza, Joel Cristobal, Jun Tiongco and Jik Villanueva are from Manila, while Lito Pepito and Ronnie Rudinas represent Mindanao.

Guests of Honor include Arambolo and his wife Marita, Ms. Jenny Go, Atty. Erlinda Ramos, and Allie Restificar, representing her father Bernard who was not present at the event.

The art exhibit will last until January 28. It is located at the Art Center on the 2nd Floor of SM City Cebu.
