The arrest of five 11th graders and one college teacher in a drug bust in Madridejos town, Bantayan Island, Cebu drew outrage from netizens.
Jovelyn Dominguez Mirambel wrote, “Hala oi nganu tawon nabuhat ni niya luuya sa mga estudyante.” (Why did the college teacher do this? Poor students)
A netizen named Liezl V Rivota said, “Kawawa parents ginagapang kayong mga anak tapos shabu pala inaatupag.” (Poor parents, working hard for the sake of their children who spend their time taking drugs)
Another netizen Maria Victoria Toreno Guape wrote, “Kalooy sa mga ginikanan aning mga studyante oi perti paningkamot niya mao ray ila gibalos kasakit sa dughan hunahunaon paita.” (The parents of these students are so pitiful. They work hard for them then this is what they get. This is heart-breaking to think about)
