DOUBLING their members from 300 to 600 is one of the thrusts of the new Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) president, Stanley Go.
Go formally took over as the new MCCI president taking over from past president Glenn Soco when he took his oath as the new chief of the business group on Thursday.
“The question to be answered for this year is how can the chamber help your businesses surge ahead?” said Stanley Go, the new MCCI president.
“As you notice, the plans we have for this year revolves around the members because the foundation of the chamber are its members,” he added.
He also plans to allow different industries to host monthly Mandaue talks with Mandaue Mayor Luis Gabriel “Luigi” Quisumbing and organize forums to help members improve their business tactics, tools and models to be able to compete globally.
Go is a former vice president of Internal Affairs of MCCI and a vice president of sales and marketing of Virginia Food Inc. He was also a co-chairman of the Mandaue Business Summit organized by the MCCI in 2015 and a member of the business group’s board of trustees in 2016 and 2017.
Soco, for his part, said that he believes that the chamber is in good hands and that the new president will be able to keep the chamber’s close relationship with the government and with its members.
The MCCI held its oath-taking ceremony last Jan. 25 at Maayo Hotel Corp. in Mandaue City.
