DENNIS Labang scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds in powering the Sharks to an, 87-76 bashing of the Wolves on Friday, for their very first win in the Elite Basketball Club – Toledo at the CEDC Multi-purpose Gym in Toledo City.
Mario Kilag was also on a show for the Sharks as he posted 20 points along with seven boards and four assists while Ryan Roland Tuburan added 14 markers.
It was a morale-boosting win for the Sharks who suffered a, 79-87 lashing in the hands of the Stallions last week. They improved their win-loss card to 1-3.
The Wolves were led by Angelito Pinili’s 21 points all coming from rainbow territory while Alique Visitacion and Juphelson Lepasana added 16 markers apiece.
In the first game, the Huskies suffered their second straight loss in the tournament, bowing to the Lions, 82-76.
The Huskies led, 20-15 in the opening quarter but failed to sustain their momentum to fall to 2-2 win-loss.
Richard Lebres led the Lions with 19 points while Rene Ignalig dropped 13 markers and grabbed six boards. Rommel Labandero and Jay Are Razonable added 11 points apiece for the Lions who improved to 3-1.
Sharpshooter Jolou Entrampas paced the Huskies with 25 points while Rain Mark Piliotas and Kent Rom contributed 12 and 10, respectively.
Next Friday, the Huskies will battle the Stallions in the main game at 5:30 p.m. while the Hornets test the Wolves in the first game at 4:15.
