THE Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC) revealed the tentative bracketing for the upcoming Governor’s Cup Cebu Province Inter Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament set to start on April 15 at the Cebu Coliseum.
The total number of towns and cities that will take part in the biggest basketball tournament in Cebu is 47, a big improvement from the 37 that joined last year.
The tournament for amateur players aged 21 and below will have two divisions: north and south.
Each division will have three brackets.
The north division’s bracket one is composed of Mandaue City, Consolacion, Liloan, Compostela, San Francisco (Camotes Island), Tudela, Poro (Camotes Island) and Cordova.
Bracket two will be made up of Carmen, Sogod, Borbon, Tabuelan, Catmon, Tuburan and Danao City while bracket three is composed of San Remigio, Medellin, Bogo, Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, Madridejos, Tabogon and Daan Bantayan.
The south division’s bracket one is composed of inaugural champions Minglanilla along with Naga, Talisay City, San Fernando, Sibonga, Carcar, and Toledo.
Bracket two will have south division’s second-best team Dalaguete together with Alcoy, Boljoon, Oslob, Samboan, Santander, Argao, and Ginatilan.
Bracket three will be made up of Alegria, Moalboal, Alcantara, Dumanjug, Barili, Aloguinsan, Balamban, Badian and Asturias.
The bracketing is subject to change, according to CPSC officials, especially if the four towns that have not submitted their lineups decide not to compete. The four are Pilar in Camotes Island, Badian, Pinamungahan, and Malabuyoc.
