LEYLAM FC started 2018 on a high note by bagging two titles in the 8th Sinulog Football Festival 2018 last Sunday at the Cebu City Sports Center.
After clinching the Men’s Open title in the morning, Leylam ended their campaign with the Inter Company title with a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat of Makoto.
Scoring goals for Leylam were Ruffy Llorente, Ranulfo Colina, Edmar Galacio, Baris Tasci and Manjo Mayormita.
Heach coach Oliver “Bingbing” Colina said that the next tournament for Leylam FC is the 15th Thirsty Cup slated February 23-25. They will be fielding three teams, all in the Men’s Open category.
According to Colina, two of the teams will be the same team that saw action in the Sinulog Cup, while their third team will be manned by their practice and reserve players.
The other remaining categories—the 38 Above and the 45 Above were also decided via a penalty shootout.
In the 38 Above, Tamblot of Tagbilaran prevailed, 1-0, in the penalty shootout against ERCO when their regulation match ended scoreless.
In the 45 Above, the Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) edged Queen City United, 1-0, also via penalty shootout following a scoreless regulation.
Both the Inter Company and 45 Above were played in a league type format.
