PROVINCIAL Board (PB) Member Jerome Librando of Cebu’s 7th district will serve as acting governor starting today and tomorrow.
Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III will attend the East Asian Tourism Forum in South Korea today and Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale took her birthday leave.

In yesterday’s press conference, the vice governor said she celebrated her 76th birthday last Jan. 20 just as the province celebrated the Feast of Señor Sto. Niño. She said her children have organized a birthday party for her.

Librando garnered the most votes of any PB member in the 2016 elections which automatically ranks him as acting governor in the absence of both the governor and vice governor.

Regional Director Rene Burdeos of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-7) said a letter of notice from the governor, or the vice governor is sufficient to confirm Librando’s designation since Davide will only be gone for a few days.
