Mandaue City Hall’s Social Welfare and Services office is revalidating their lists of senior citizens after noticing a rising number of elderly people moving into the city in recent years.

Jessie Perez, Head of the acity Social Welfare and Services (CSWS) office said, they receive quite a number of applicants for seniors but did not qualify after most of them lacks the requirements mostly the voter’s registration.

“We ask the applicants for senior citizens to have their membership where they are registered but if they really wanted it here, they make sure they have a residence here to get a voter’s ID,” said Jessie Perez, acting City Social Welfare Services Office (CSWS) chief.

Perez said there are senior citizens that don’t live in Mandaue City but only have relatives and families living in the city. Seniors in Mandaue City receive P6,000 a year to be given in three tranches.
