200-bed hospital to be established in Bogo City

Dr. Rene Catan of the Cebu Provincial Health Office (PHO) announced that the national government has funded the construction of the three-storey medical center inside Severo Verallo Memorial District Hospital compound in Bogo City, Cebu, approximately 101 kilometers from Cebu City.

Catan said in a press conference that the groundbreaking ceremony of the P230-million hospital building this February 22 will be attended by Senators Bam Aquino and Risa Hontiveros, and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

“The budget, P200 million of it came from the Senate while the remaining P30 million is funded by the DOH (Department of Health),” he stated.

The construction, which is expected to start this year, will be spearheaded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
