AS the war on drugs continues, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced the opening of its recruitment program aimed at hiring at least 1,395 Drug Enforcement Officers across the country.
“We have a problem in the fight against illegal drugs and yet PDEA lacks manpower,” said PDEA-7 Director Emerson Margate.
Interested applicants (male or female) must be 21 to 35 years old, a holder of a baccalaureate degree, a Career Service Professional and board passer.

At present, Margate said they only have 1,200 Drug Enforcement Officers nationwide. Of the number, 55 are assigned in Central Visayas.
“We plan to hire 5,000 more officers in the next five years,” he said.
