Six senior high school students in Cebu, who were celebrating passing their final examinations, are in deep trouble after they were accused of raping an 18-year-old woman inside their boarding house in Mandaue City on Friday.

Police held the six students, whose ages range from 16 and 17 years old, and later turned them over to the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, said PO1 Karen Margatinez of the Women and Children Protection Desk of a police station in Mandaue City.

Margatinez said the victim’s parents vowed to file rape charges against the minor students for what they allegedly did to their 18-year-old daughter.

The victim was being examined and treated at the hospital in Cebu City.

According to Margatinez, investigation showed that the students invited the 18-year-old victim and her 21-year-old sister to join them in celebrating for passing their final examinations.

The students and their two guests drank liquor at the students’ boarding house.
When the 18-year-old got drunk, she asked to go to the restroom, which was on the second floor of the boarding house.

One of the students helped the 18-year-old woman upstairs to the restroom. A few minutes later, the student, who escorted the woman went down and another student went upstairs.

The 21-year-old sister felt something was wrong when the students took turns in going upstairs, so she went upstairs to check and found her sister passed out and naked on the bed.

The sister rushed outside and called for help.

The students were detained.

Margatinez said that four of them claimed to have allegedly molested the woman while two other students claimed they did not do anything to the woman.

However, the woman’s parents promised to file rape charges against the six students.
Margatinez said if the charges would be filed, it would be up to the court to decide on the fate of the six minor students.
