LPA to bring rains in Cebu in next few days

THE public are encouraged to bring umbrellas and rain gear as the weather bureau has forecast light to moderate rains in the next few days in Cebu.

Joey Figuracion, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Mactan, said Cebu would experience light to moderate scattered rainshowers due to the low pressure area (LPA).

“Nakaapekto karon ang track sa LPA sa entire Central Visayas,” Figuracion told Cebu Daily News on a phone interview.

He said there would also a possibility of thunderstorm that would bring heavy rains and could led to flooding.

He also said that there would be a slim chance for the LPA to become a storm.

The LPA was last spotted 290 kilometers (km) southeast of Davao City, Davao del Sur, as of 5 p.m. yesterday’s weather forecast.

Figuracion said the weather was expected to improve on Tuesday.
