THE Rider Omega Tri Team of Cebu ruled the Bike King Philippines Triathlon Series in Subic Bay, Zambales last Sunday.
The team topped two age groups and had four podium finishes to win the final leg of the race, which was the former Tri United Series. Rider Omega Tri Team also won the two previous legs last year in the team challenge competition.
Leading Rider Omega Pro Tri Team was ace triathletes Banjo Norte and Maria Hodges, who emerged as the overall male and female champions.
Norte, a Cagayan de Oro native now based in Cebu, clocked two hours, 16 minutes and 16 seconds to win the men’s 25-29 title and emerge as the overall first placer in the male division.
Teammate Jorry Ycong settled for second place with a time of 2:19.39 while former teammate Kristiane Lim, now competing under Organique Tri Team, wound up third with a time of 2:21.34.
Hodges finished the women’s division with a 2:28.35 clocking to emerge overall first place.
Rider Omega Tri Team’s podium finishers were Vic Montebon (men’s 19-24 second placer), Cianyl Jamae Gonzales (women’s 25-29 champion), Brian Borling (men’s 30-34 second placer) and Ma. Victoria Tan (women’s 45-49 third placer).
Sante Barley and Herbalife finished as second and third placers, respectively, in the Team Challenge.
