WASTED FUTURE
Netizens vented their sentiments on the arrest of six suspected communist rebels — among them is a graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu and two minors — during an encounter with government troops in Mabinay town, Negros Oriental province last Saturday, March 03.
Becky Padua said, “Nganong miduko ka man day? Naulaw ka sa mga taxpayers? Dapat motan-aw mo ug utang kabubut-on. Hambog pa mo, mao na ako nakita sa mga UP students ug UP grads nga nakauban sa work. Ipakita jud nga UP grads cla (Why are you bowing your head, miss? Are you ashamed in front of the taxpayers? You should know who you are indebted to. You are so arrogant, that’s what I see from UP students and graduates that I work with. They show that they are) —bright!”
A netizen, Cañete Mustachei wrote, “Maypa wala ka n graduate dai. Nag NPA nalang unta ka after hs. Mao na kalaki sa UP. Hasula (It’s better if she didn’t graduate and went to the NPA after high school. That’s what becomes of UP graduates. Such a hassle).”
Another netizen, Kimberly Rafunzell Teves Medina said, “Sayang graduate UP pa, high standard school but fragmented ang future … minsan isipin natin ang kapakanan sa ating sarili. (What a waste she is a graduate of UP, a high standard school but with a fragmented future … sometimes we have to think for our own welfare)”
