WORRIED OVER MISSING SEAMEN
Netizens expressed their sympathies to the families of the four remaining crew members, including two Filipino seamen, who remained missing after a serious fire broke out in an international container vessel in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday afternoon.
A netizen named Therese Peterson wrote: “Ang (the) company already issued a statement that the bodies were not recovered. I pray for their souls that they may rest in peace and for the(ir) families’ healing.”
Francez Igorseba wrote: “even though its hard to put out a fire, especially when the ship is at the middle of the ocean, better fire equipment should always be provided by the company to avoid incidents like these. Pray for the souls”
While Maria Eslet said, “Condolence to the family. I hope this should be a lesson to all vessels to upgrade their fire equipment.”
Maersk Homan, a Singaporean-flagged Maersk Line vessel, caught fire in the Arabian Sea near Lakshadweep Islands on Tuesday night, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) said on Wednesday.
