NOW on its 23rd edition, the country’s most anticipated construction and design event returns to deliver its most ambitious installment yet. An annual gathering of the biggest names in the industry, this year’s Philippine World Building and Construction Expo (WORLDBEX) centers on the theme of “Shaping Innovations Toward Sustainability”.
To provide everyone with a quick sketch of what to expect at this year’s WORLDBEX, here are some of the most compelling reasons to visit the show:
1. Three mega venues – WORLDBEX occupies World Trade Center (WTC), the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), and the SMX Convention Center (SMX) for this year’s presentation.
2.WORLDBEX MiniCon – The WORLDBEX Mini Convention is a one-day seminar hosted by the supporting associations for the year.
3. Designs on display – This year’s Obra Maestra exhibit will be featuring the works of two groups of Interior Design Students from the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde.
4. Biowood Structure – A quality manufacturer of fire retardant building products, Biowood teamed up with WORLDBEX to create the GRM Biowood structure – an epitome of sustainable innovation and design.
5. New WORLDBEX Interior Design ICONS – A hub for the country’s most influential interior designers, the Interior Designers Gallery welcomes Ed Calma and Lilia De Jesus to its roster of Interior Design ICONS.
6. WORLDBEX Lab – An exhibit that showcases a handful of companies who have been revolutionizing the industry with product innovations, this year’s WORLDBEX Lab turns the spotlight on innovative smart home products from select WORLDBEX exhibitors.
7. Friendly competitions – The newest highlight of the show, Projeto Manila is a design competition which originated in PHILBEX Cebu and branched out to PHILBEX Davao.
8. WORLDBEX Seminars – This year’s WORLDBEX Seminars will happen on March 15 – 18 at the SMX Convention Center from 9 AM to 5 PM.
9. City of Tomorrow – The City of Tomorrow is a scale model exhibit which features the latest design perspectives as well as the celebrated works of the country’s top architecture and design firms such as Angeles Architectural Studio, Jagnus Design Studio, Buencalido Architects, Carunungan and Partners, WTA, and Jonathan Gan.
10. Associations and Sponsors – This year, 25 associations and a total of 10 sponsors have come together to make WORLDBEX 2018 possible.
