TWO-TIME runners-up Dormakaba did not waste time announcing their intentions for the title as they creamed Welcoat, 92-49, at the start of the Architects + Engineers Basketball Club Corporate Cup 2018 on Saturday evening at the University of San Carlos Gym.
Dormakaba splashed the writing on the wall as early as the first, where it opened up a 34-12 lead. The lead ballooned to 54-16 at halftime as Dormakaba cruised to the easy win.
Eric Pummer paced Dormakaba with 27 points while Kyle Esbra added 15.
Fenestram, meanwhile, ambushed the defending champions Sea Olympus, 76-73.
Sea Olympus held a 45-36 lead heading to the final period of action but could not hold on as it got outclassed by Fenestram in the fourth, 40-28, leading to the loss.
Zircon Bulawan paced Fenestram with 23 points and nine rebounds while Alain Lim had 16 points. Jessie Paradero put up 13.
In the third game, Davies Paints upended Phoenix, 78-71, behind the 24 points and 10 rebounds of Mike Cinco.
Island Paints also edged Eastgrand, 63-61, thanks to a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Oliver Tan.
