4-year-old girl accidentally shot dead with toy gun

A 4-year-old girl was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after she was accidentally shot by her 12-year-old cousin in Barangay Adlaon, Cebu City past 2 p.m Monday.

Joel (not his real name) accidentally shot Clarrise (also not her real name) in the right chest with an improvised toy gun loaded with a marble bullet.

The parents immediately brought their child to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

SPO3 Rommel Bancug, the homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office, said that both of them were playing when Joel accidentally shot the victim.

Joel is now in the custody of Talamban police precinct.
