Drug personality, two cohorts fall in Minglanilla drug bust

One of the top 10 drug personalities in Minglanilla, a southern town 15 km from Cebu City, was arrested during a police anti-illegal drug operation on Sunday morning.

Arnel Alforque also known as “Shongo,” 23, of Sitio Kolohan, Barangay Tulay, and his cohorts, Jerry Alidon also known as “Langaw,” 40, and Rebecca Reroma also known as “Bec-Bec,” 30, of Sitio Poblacion, Barangay Ward 3, were caught during a buy-bust operation at 2 a.m., said Senior Insp. Verniño Noserale, Minglanilla Police Station commander.

Noserale said that Alidon was Alforque’s neighbor and a habal-habal driver, whom police considered a frontliner in Alforque’s illegal business.

He also said that Alforque, who was No. 9 in their list of the town’s drug personalities, was classified as a level 2 drug pusher or one who could dispose 150 grams of illegal drugs in a week.

Confiscated from the suspects were a large pack, 15 pieces of sachet believed to contain suspected shabu worth an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board of P248,000.

The suspects were detained at the Minglanilla Police Station detention cell pending the filing of charges.
